Fund for a Better Future (FBF) is a nonprofit, social welfare organization capable of political and election involvement under the rules of Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(4). FBF allows donors to invest quickly in a wide range of causes in ways that ensure impact, accountability, and legal compliance. FBF is an affiliated but separate organization from RLF. As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, FBF is able to engage in various advocacy and political activities for which RLF, a 501(c)(3) organization, faces certain legal limitations or restrictions. FBF works with donors on conservation of natural resources, voting rights, redistricting, immigration rights, women’s health, and other issues.
Shared Ascent Fund is a 501(c)(3) platform for advancing shared prosperity, women’s equality, racial equity, and sustained support for collective action to imagine and create a better world. It was created by and for philanthropists who want to focus on the growing threat to our democracy. Shared Ascent Fund is an affiliated but separate organization from RLF and Fund for a Better Future.
RLG provides confidential legal and financial services for donors on conservation loans, transactions, planning such as habitat conservation planning, and a variety of other legal needs. These include sourcing and due diligence on Program-related Investments for donors. RLG also provides start-to-finish legal and underwriting support, including project structuring, document development, negotiation, and monitoring.
